Slow Times

Times have been slow lately, lots of work, some time for the good ol' XBLA. Knarf's system has come across an error, so he's soon to be in for XBox 360 #3. Maybe if he didn't use it to cook eggs anymore, everything should be fine. Did read a cool Manhattan Project article today in the Science Times pull-out of the NY Times. Good times in Manhattan!

Currently Playing !

The list of "currently playing" is getting a bit busy lately. The Gravediggers are hunkering down for some Halo 3 bloodletting. Also making time for some ball-rolling madness of Katamari^360, the Nazi killing Blazing Angels 2, the shear number of possibilities with The Orange Box, and the familiarity of Tetris. Oh, and did I forget the silly fun of Thrillville: Off the Rails: making coasters that dip, dive, explode, climb, and even fall of the track? For shame, such a good title, on almost every console and/or hand-held system out there. Would have made a cool Virtual Boy title, but I don't think that thing has anything good on it, other than Pinball with a Puck and Tetris.

The active Gravediggers don't own Gears of War anymore, but I don't think they've missed a thing, save for that vicarious feeling of a chainsaw to the spine. Or face. Battlestar Galactica and Exit drop this week for the XBLA, which should bring some more XBLA love this week (October 24th).

New Characters On Board !!

The new characters are on board, and Max finally is back up and running on the good ol' interwebs. Here's a small picture of Maxwell Ignatius Einstein:

Flatout: Ultimate Carnage kills! FUCk

I love racing games, and MaxShrek has picked up another of the new XBox 360 racers, Flatout: Ultimate Carnage (which we abbreviate as FUC). Since the mass-trading of such titles as Ninety Nine Nights and Hitman, along with some other junk, games have been procured (sic) and reserved: Blazing Angels 2, FUC, and Stuntman: Ignition; reserved titles remaining are Half Life Orange Box, Beautiful Katamari, and Thrillville: Off the Rails... Seem to be alot of fekkin' videogame titles with full colons in them, unlike a certain Republican president from the 80s.

Return from tangent.. FUC looks beautiful, and when I get bored, all I want to do is FUC. FUC-king is nice, when taking a break from slaughtering piglets online with Halo 3 (which, btwimhop, is fantastic if not overly familiar), and it's nice to be able to say that I FUC with my XBox 360. The graphics are awesome, the water FX are great, and, what's this? No slow-down? Yep, no slowdown! I'll have to jump into this title sometime today to get a better feeling for the title. Maybe fling some drivers across the racetrack or something.

!! News Flash !!

We've received information that the cool stuff we've been waiting for will be debuting sometime before Halloween! (ETA, subject to change!) Keep checking in! All 3 of you...........

Halo 3: Kick My Ass

MaxShrek started to play Halo 3 online, in ranked and social matches. Still some of the same problems- fake n00bs, weird lag, rock-paper-scissors melee attacks. Hasn't noticed any cheaters, but he's been too busy just trying to stay alive.

That's it for a quick impression of jet-lagged Halo 3 playing (only about 1.5 hours played). The "teammates only" voice option is perfect, it takes away the squealing little piglets from ruining the game experience.

XBox Live Arcade = Virtual Crack

I love arcade games. Many of them are flaming turds, even more are quarter munchers, and these days, a majority of them are shooting games. Wait, aren't shooting games the path to a Columbine or Virginia Tech related tragedy? Want a classic game? Download MAME.

Anyhow, I love the XBox Live Arcade, even with the lame Digital Media thing, the DMR, that assigns software to the gamertag and the serial number of the console. Seen the RRoD? Oh, then your new XBox 360 only plays XBLA games when the purchasing gamertag is signed in to Live. Annoying, but, is it really new?

Currently, the list is fairly large, as MaxShrek has been tracking rumors, releases, and pending releases on Gamers With Jobs (gamerswithjobs.com). A cool internet community of interesting peoples, a few plants, and the occassional community member being "Fired".

Check out the list over there, and the impressions will be posted here (we've got 75+ owned titles between all of us, so it may take a while, although some of the titles need only a few sentences).

Thrillville and Crash of the Titans demos?

Gotta try these out- see if Crash Bandicoot has fallen off the map, and if Thrillville: Off The Rails can get my creative rollercoaster madness going like the first one did!
